Kotaro Matsuyama, bilingual Akiya consultant

Your guide in Japan

A local bridge between you and the right property.

I’m Kotaro Matsuyama, a bilingual Akiya consultant. I work with local agents and specialists to help international buyers understand the property, the process, and the risks before committing.

Many attractive homes are difficult to access from overseas. Listings disappear quickly, local agents may not respond in English, and each property comes with a different set of practical and legal questions. Akiya Journey helps you move from online interest to a realistic purchase plan.

Why buyers get stuck

The listing is only the beginning.

01

Language & response barriers

Many local agencies are not set up to handle overseas enquiries, English documents, or remote decision-making.

02

Listings change quickly

A property may already be under negotiation even when it still appears online. Availability must be checked directly.

03

The process is local

Contracts, payments, utilities, taxes, renovation, and ongoing management all depend on local coordination.

Services

Support from first check to life after purchase.

Choose the support you need, with clear checkpoints before you spend time or money on the next step.

Property verification

We contact the listing side to check availability, foreign-buyer eligibility, and key conditions before you go further.

  • Up to 10 candidate properties
  • Our recommendations and your finds
  • Clear feedback on next steps

Frequently asked questions

Start with the practical questions.

Can a foreigner buy an Akiya in Japan?

Foreign ownership is generally possible, but individual sellers, agencies, financing conditions, and property-specific restrictions can affect whether a purchase is realistic.

Can I complete the purchase remotely?

Some transactions can progress largely online, while others require physical documents, local representatives, or an in-person visit. We confirm the expected path for each property.

Do you only support properties shown on Instagram?

No. Social posts are examples of what is available in the market. We can also check properties you find and help search based on your criteria.

What information should I prepare before the call?

Your country and time zone, preferred area, budget, purchase timing, purpose, visit plans, preferred contact method, and any property links you already have.
